How do I swap a persistent IP address from one computer to another?
To change the computer a persistent IP address is assigned to, please complete the following steps:
Access the internet from the destination computer you want the address assigned to.
Type in the web url www.walledgarden.mchsd.com in your Internet browser's address bar. This will bring up a Mediacom web page where you will need to enter your account number and registration code.
After you have entered this information, a list of services that you are subscribed to will be displayed. Go to the "Persistent IP" section, click on the "manage" button.
Locate the persistent IP address you want to assign to the current device and then click on the "Swap" button.
Next enter the name of the computer that is being assigned the persistent IP address so we can update our records. Once you have finished, click the "Submit" button.
After the "Thank you" screen has confirmed the swap was successful, close your browser.
Finally, restart the computer the IP address was originally assigned to in order to release the persistent IP, and then restart the computer that you just assigned the persistent IP. Back
