Please use the following steps to configure Netscape for Newsgroups:

1. Open Netscape Messenger


2. Click the NEWSGROUP icon in the Component bar


3. Click EDIT


4. A new menu drops


5. Choose PREFERENCES


6. The Preferences box appears


7. Double-click MAIL & NEWSGROUPS


8. A new list displays


9. Select NEWSGROUP SERVERS


10. Locate the Newsgroup Servers list


11. Verify that NEWS appears as a choice


12. If it does not appear, click ADD


13. Enter mail.mchsi.com


14. Locate the field labeled: PORT


15. Find the field labeled: SECURE


16. Verify that it is NOT CHECKED


17. Click OK

1. Open Outlook Express


2. Click TOOLS


3. A new menu appears


4. Choose ACCOUNTS


5. The Internet Accounts box opens


6. Select the NEWS tab


7. New options appear


8. Click PROPERTIES


9. Click the SERVER tab


10. Verify that netnews.mchsi.com appears as the name of your server


11. If it is not listed, add it


12. Click OK until you return to the browser window
